What does Mom It Forward Media do?
Mom It Forward Media connects brands with moms and their families through social media. In the deck that you sent, is that all that you offer?
We highlight in our deck our most popular services. We also perform a variety of services, but not as frequently as the ones you see featured in our deck. What services are you most interested in? Can we customize a Mom It Forward Media package?
Absolutely! The process we follow begins with identifying your campaign objectives or strategy for a larger program and looking at what services we offer would work best to help meet those objectives or contribute to the overarching strategy. If we find Mom It Forward's traditional services don't cover it, we brainstorm other solutions until we get to a point of having a solid strategy or campaign plan in place. The first step would be to hop on a call, discuss objectives or high-level goals, and move from there to brainstorm solutions to meet those goals.
What is the purpose of a #gno Twitter party?
Twitter parties are perfect for brands looking to generate immediate buzz about a product, service, cause, campaign launch, etc. Some benefits include:
- To generate immediate buzz about a product or service.
- To connect with your target market in a two-way conversation, which is much more personal than traditional push advertising.
- To create a peer-to-peer sharing and learning environment about a topic relevant to your market that also ties in with your brand.
- To be a credible resource, providing important information to your target market.
- To get focus-group-like information from open-ended and inclusive questions.
- To promote your product or service.
What is involved in sponsoring a #gno Twitter party?
We run the Twitter parties at a pre-determined time (morning, afternoon, and evening). Our most popular date and time is Tuesday from 9-10 p.m. EST. Using that time frame as an example, the first five minutes are a welcome/promo/introduction time where we identify the brand as the party sponsor, welcome the panelists for the event (both brand and blogger panelists), say "hi" to participants who want to attend the party, and share any up front promo about the service, including links or whatnot. We then start in with our first question at 9:04 p.m. EST and tweet out another question every six minutes from that time until the close of the party. A giveaway can also be hosted during the party. The in-chat giveaway is completely optional.
The moderators and panelists help keep the energy high by answering the questions and replying to the participants' answers. The brand participates by shooting out answers to the questions, which they have prepared in advance, as well as interacting with the community. The last five minutes of the party is similar to the first five minutes. We thank the brand for coming and disclose that they were the sponsor. What is the turnaround time on a #gno Twitter party?
We love to book our Twitter parties 30 days in advance of the party. That said, we've pulled off many a Twitter party on 24 hours notice. Included in our package is 5 days of pre-party promotion. For that to happen, we have to have campaign message points and creative assets. So really... once you get us the information and the approvals, we can turn around a party quickly.
Can you tell me more about your blog tours?
We have two programs we do with our community: 1) tailored blog posts and 2) opt-in posts. The first is where you provide us with the tight criteria you would like the bloggers to meet (moms, with kids ages X-X, with X # of UVMs, etc.). We reach out to bloggers that meet that criteria and manage the life cycle of their posting. We compensate them and provide you metrics after the campaign is a wrap. We can do anywhere from five to hundreds of posts, depending on budget and how tight your criteria is.
Opt-in posts are great for when you need one of the following: a fast turn time, a lot of bloggers, or you don't have super tight criteria. It doesn't cost as much money and is a great way to get people who you know are interested in your product/brand. We basically send out a dedicated blast to our network, providing basic criteria and have people sign up. Then, we pass those who opted-in by you for your review and selection, and then manage the life cycle of the posts as usual.
As part of a blog tour, can you gather specific information from bloggers to see if they are a good fit?
Absolutely! We require all potential participants to complete a form wherein they are asked a multitude of questions. Our standard questions require them to provide their name, address, major market they are closest to, social media accounts and reach, information about their family (how many kids they have, kids' ages), topics they blog about, and more. We are always happy to include specific questions to further help vet whether a blogger is a perfect fit. For example, if you are wondering whether the blogger has tried a specific product, is a fan of a brand or product, or has ever written a post on a specific topic, we can ask those questions and even ask her/him to provide samples via links.
What is a database blitz?
When sourcing bloggers for a blog tour (to write about a specific brand or product), we send out a mass eBlast to our database (blitz them in other words), sharing the campaign criteria, requirements, and compensation. If bloggers feel that are a fit and are interested, they will complete a form we send them to opt in to the campaign and to fill out basic information, including their current social media reach (e.g., unique monthly visitors to their blog, Twitter followers, Facebook likes, etc.). Once we vet the bloggers who opted in, we pass along the information to the brand for approval and then manage the campaign from there, ensuring posts and social media promotion go up on time, with quality, and according to FTC guidelines. We manage the sourcing, communication, fulfillment of campaign requirements, compensation, tax information (1099s), and follow up information via a survey with the participating bloggers and provide a report back to the brand with the results of the campaign (or the database blitz).
Can you tell me more about live event campaigns?
Live Events are the most customized offering we have and can be simple or extremely complex. They may require additional brainstorming to meet the campaign's objectives. If you are simply saying that you want a small group of people to assemble to sample product, we're probably looking at a house party, potentially many in multiple markets. That is where we start, but we can do the gamut, including events at corporate headquarters or at places like resorts, etc. Please contact us to learn more.
Does Mom It Forward offer ambassador programs?
Yes. Ambassador Programs are also a highly customized offering and like live events, can be simple or extremely complex, depending on all of the elements a brand wants to include. We need to start, as always, by identifying objectives, and move to the elements they'd like to include (e.g., a monthly blog post on the bloggers' site, a monthly blog post on the brand's site, representation for the brand at a social media conference, etc.). Is there a limit on the number of bloggers we can work with on a campaign?
No. In fact, the more bloggers or social media influencers you enlist in a campaign, the more of a quantity break we can give you. We start looking at those breaks when we get into the hundred range (100+ bloggers) or when we are talking multiple service packages (a blog tour + a Twitter party + multi-market house parties, for example).
Do you work with dad/men bloggers?
Yes! In fact, one of our Mom It Forward team members is a dad blogger and is very active on Twitter. Troy blogs at http://dadventurous.com, tweets at http://twitter.com/troypattee, is on Babble's 2012 and 2013 list of the top 50 dad bloggers, has spoken at several social media conferences, and is currently fulfilling an annual contract with KRAFT as a spokesblogger, where he is helping them reach more dads and dad bloggers.
Additionally, we involve dad bloggers in many of our campaigns and have a retreat focused on the family. Our target audience is both mom and dad bloggers and their families.
We have found that dads are not as likely to formally subscribe to our database, but when reached out to, they are more than willing to partner on campaigns and do a great and professional job with providing quality posts and follow up.
What does the Mom It Forward management fee cover?
Mom It Forward Media has dedicated account managers who do all the behind the scenes work so you can rest assured the campaign is moving ahead according to plan. Specifically, our account managers work directly with brand representatives and with the social media influencers participating in the campaign. They oversee campaigns from the project schedule phase through reporting on metrics. Tasks involved include, but are not limited to: managing communication with the participating social media influencers; ensuring fulfillment of campaign requirements and compliance to FTC guidelines; communicating on a regular basis with the brand representative/agency representative so he/she is always aware of a projects' status; compensating campaign participants/social media influencers for their work and providing tax information if appropriate; gathering the metrics for the campaign, including original links to blog posts and social media mentions; preparing a report, overviewing the campaign's success; and administering and reporting back on a participant survey, sharing the campaign participants' honest opinions about the product/service, campaign administration, and other feedback.
Do you offer reporting/stats? If so, what's included?
Yes! We offer reporting for all of our serivices.
TWITTER PARTIES: A comprehensive report comes included in our premium Twitter party packages. Included in that report is dashboard information from Radian6 and Hashtracking.com for the #gno hashtag, showing total tweets, impression, and reach from the party. We also include a word cloud to highlight the key topics the discussion generated. We call out key tweets from party attendees, where they are specifically discussing the brand, product, or service. We share who our co-hostesses were and what their individual and collective reach and influence is. And, we accompany this report with a full transcript of all of the tweets from the party.
BLOG TOURS: Similar to Twitter parties, we offer a comprehensive report. The charge is $1500 and includes the following: A description of the campaign objectives; an overview of the participants, their reach, and influence; links to their posts and social media promotion and traffic/reach generated from those posts/promotion; snapshots from blog posts and social media promotion; and total impressions generated from the campaign, broken down into blog post impressions, social media impressions (divided out by platform), and more, depending on what was included and required from the campaign. This is delivered in a PPT presentation and ready for you to share with your client or your brand team.
LIVE EVENTS/AMBASSADOR PROGRAMS: These would be similar to blog tour reports and would include details based on what the campaign entailed.
How big is your database?
We have nearly 3,000 bloggers and social media influencers who have subscribed to our databases. Additionally, we have an informal network (people who haven't subscribed, but who we are friends with, know well, or who we have worked with in the past) that we can tap into should we need increased people for outreach or should we need to represent a very specific niche. Furthermore, we are not opposed to cold pitching bloggers for campaigns.
What types of bloggers are in your database?
Our demographic is primarily moms, ages 25 through 45 who are tech savvy, bloggers, and active in one or more social media platform.For more detailed information, including primary blog topics, locations represented, ages of children, race/ethnicity, reach, and influence, please contact us to request our sponsorship deck, which includes more specific information on our community.
How many people are subscribed to your newsletter?
As of March 2013, we have more than 1,500 people that subscribe to our weekly eNewsletter. We have a 26% open rate and a 5% click-through rate.
Can I buy a list with your network's contact information so that I can work with them directly?
No! We do not sell our list. However, if you are looking to engage with social media influencers and would like to run the campaign yourself, we are happy to get permission from willing participants and work out a contract with you that reflects that.
